In his first season with the Milwaukee Bucks, veteran wing Wesley Matthews has brought his 3-and-D game to meet everyone’s expectations. With that, we run through three of his best showings so far this 2019-20 season.

When Wesley Matthews first signed with the Milwaukee Bucks last summer not long into free agency, all Bucks fans knew it wouldn’t be just an ordinary addition.

Long before his 11-year NBA career, and before he became one of the best players to stick in the league after going undrafted in the 2009 NBA Draft, Matthews’ basketball story started in Wisconsin.

More from Bucks News

The son of former NBA player, Wes Matthews Sr., Matthews Jr. first rose to prominence as a standout player at Madison Memorial during high school, eventually winning Mr. Basketball back in 2005.

After spurning the Badgers and the University of Wisconsin following his high school career, Matthews further embedded himself in the state’s rich basketball history at Marquette University between 2005-2009 and became a fan favorite in Milwaukee.

Now, after leaving the state 10 years earlier to find his spot in the NBA, Matthews was getting a chance to play for his hometown team and during one of the biggest years in the franchise’s 52-year history.

To say he has made his mark on the league’s best team would be right on the money as he stepped right into the vacant spot of the Bucks’ starting lineup, in the wake of replacing the outgoing Malcolm Brogdon following the Bucks’ high-profile decision to deal him in a sign-and-trade to the Indiana Pacers.

So without further ado, let’s run through three of Wesley Matthews’ signature performances throughout this 2019-20 Bucks season.
