Since being appointed general manager of the Milwaukee Bucks, Jon Horst has made a string of instrumental moves that have helped the team to stand where they are today.

Nearly three years into his stint as the Milwaukee Bucks’ general manager, Jon Horst has been at the controls of the team’s reinvention over the last couple of seasons.

Considering how the very public process to find the Bucks’ next GM played out in the summer of 2017 that ended with Horst winning the gig, even without being a reported candidate for the position throughout the search, many Bucks fans were left wondering who exactly Horst was. That was even the case after he had been with the team the previous 10 years under his predecessor, John Hammond.

In an instant, Horst, the youngest GM in the game at the time, was tasked with running a Bucks team that held higher aspirations with the ascension of superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Now, standing as the reigning NBA Executive of the Year, Horst has been critical in finding the pieces that have been necessary to the Bucks’ turnaround to spark a new lasting era of Milwaukee basketball for all fans.

Even in retrospect, Horst’s introduction into the Bucks’ consciousness was far from ideal, but aside from that messy first impression, the 36-year-old has proven to be the right man for the job along the way. And he will continue to do so for the Bucks under this current window, especially after inking a three-year contract extension last summer.

So without further ado, let’s dive into ranking Jon Horst’s top five moves as Bucks general manager, starting with finding a promising piece through the draft.
