If the Milwaukee Bucks return to action and finish their season by winning an NBA championship, Giannis Antetokounmpo already has celebration plans.

As momentum seems to build toward the NBA season being able to restart over the next two months, Milwaukee Bucks fans will soon be able to dream again about their team winning a championship.

What’s almost certain is that the fans won’t be alone on that front. Given just how successful the Bucks’ season had been up until the point when it was brought to a halt by the coronavirus outbreak, the prospect of picking up a ring will undoubtedly focus the minds of Milwaukee’s players too.

As one of the guests on Pat Connaughton’s 11-hour radiothon for COVID-19 relief on Thursday, which raised over $205,000, Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo offered up some comments that revealed even he isn’t immune to imagining what could come with the Bucks winning a title.

Specifically, Antetokounmpo tipped his hat to the celebration plans that he has in mind if he and his teammates can find a way to get over the line and achieve the league’s ultimate success, as the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel detailed:

"“Before all this happened with COVID-19, I was talking about taking the team on a trip to Greece in Mykonos,” Antetokounmpo said. “Mykonos is one of the best islands in Greece, it’s a party island. You cannot go there with your significant other, you got to be by yourself. It’s got to be a boys’ trip. Obviously, we have Santorini, Santorini’s really romantic. It has the best sunset and sunrise in the world. You can take your significant other there.”“I had the opportunity to go last year – I went with (Eric) Bledsoe and Brook (Lopez) to Mykonos – and I was kind of sad I wasn’t able to bring the whole team to experience what we went through. So definitely, I think, after we win the championship and we’re holding the trophy and we’re all smoking a cigar like M.J., we can all do that in Mykonos.”"

That’s certainly a scenario that Bucks fans would love to see come to pass, but it’s also the kind of comment from the likely soon-to-be two-time MVP that speaks to just how deep his bond is with the Bucks and his teammates.

With Giannis’ decision on a potential supermax extension drawing ever nearer, there’s an even greater scrutiny on everything he says at this point, and his comments on Thursday certainly will have been encouraging to Bucks fans.

Giannis Antetokounmpo also outlined the progress the Milwaukee Bucks have made as an organization during his time in the NBA, which is something that would seem to increase his chances of signing an extension.

In that same conversation, Antetokounmpo reflected on what’s changed with the Bucks over the course of his time in Milwaukee, as was shared on Twitter by Stephen Watson of WISN 12 News.

Giannis describing what the Bucks have become as living up to what he wanted from the start seems like a significant development in terms of what could come next.

Let’s hope that progress the organization has made can help the Bucks to secure a championship in the next few months, and that Giannis and the rest of the squad will be celebrating in Mykonos in the offseason. Maybe he can put pen to paper on a new deal there too.
