Milwaukee Bucks: Building an all-time team around Giannis Antetokounmpo
By Adam McGee
The Milwaukee Bucks have done a great job of building around Giannis Antetokounmpo, but what would the franchise’s all-time squad to complement him look like?
As the Milwaukee Bucks have been transformed from one of the NBA’s most perennially mediocre teams into one of the league’s best over the past couple of seasons, the source of their success has been no real secret.
Giannis Antetokounmpo has ascended to the game’s summit, and will likely be crowned MVP for a second consecutive season whenever the current campaign’s awards are given out. Giannis’ phenomenal individual play has automatically elevated the team around him.

Crucially, though, the Bucks have also built brilliantly around their superstar. General manager Jon Horst has constructed a roster that’s designed to be a match for Antetokounmpo’s strengths and play style, while head coach Mike Budenholzer has also implemented a system that maximizes Giannis’ abilities and impact.
Antetokounmpo’s unique physical gifts and ever improving mix of skills make him a distinctive and interesting focal point for a team, and one which there’s every reason to believe could lead to multiple NBA championships over the course of his career.
With that in mind, though, a fun hypothetical is to imagine how Antetokounmpo could be best utilized as the centerpiece of an all-time Bucks squad.
To be clear, this is not a case of simply putting together an all-time Bucks squad where Antetokounmpo slots in at power forward and the best players at the other four positions join him. Instead, it’s an exercise to imagine which players from across the history of the franchise could best combine as complementary pieces alongside Milwaukee’s current talisman to make for a truly formidable team.
So without further ado, let’s pick the all-time Bucks players who would make up the best nine-man rotation built to get the most out of Antetokounmpo.
