Consistency remains a problem for Milwaukee Bucks’ affiliate Bucks Gaming, as they dropped to 2-4 in the NBA 2K League standings on Thursday night.
After a stellar performance in their previous gameweek, it’s been a rough few days for the Milwaukee Bucks’ NBA 2K League affiliate Bucks Gaming.
A perfect week had brought the Bucks back to 2-2 in the standings heading into this week, but a loss to Blazer5 Gaming on Tuesday was only further compounded as Milwaukee lost 2-1 in their match with Gen.G Tigers on Thursday night.

Gen.G Tigers are the 2K League’s only franchise that isn’t affiliated with an NBA club, instead operating under the global esports brand from Shanghai. Much like all other franchises given the ongoing pandemic, the Tigers are playing their games from a remote location, in their case Gen.G’s North American base in Los Angeles.
With both teams entering Thursday’s clash at 2-3 in the standings, the stakes were high as it bordered on a must-win for both the Bucks and Tigers.
On that front, the Bucks certainly took the ideal first step.
In Game 1 of the team’s best-of-3 match, the Bucks found themselves trailing throughout most of the first three quarters, but found a significant spark late in third quarter, and then carried it over into the fourth period where they overturned what was a notable deficit by holding Gen.G to just five points, and prevailed with a 79-69 victory.
As has been the case for the Bucks for most of the season to date, Regg was again the star. The rookie point guard piled on 31 points, 13 assists, and three steals, while also getting notable support from Arooks (16 points and four assists) and Squidris (19 points and 14 rebounds).
That was particularly evident as Regg and Arooks combined on a deep fourth quarter triple to secure the lead, and set up the victory.
After a strong start to the night for Milwaukee Bucks’ affiliate Bucks Gaming, their offense came unstuck over the remainder of their series with Gen.G Tigers.
Unfortunately, that’s where the good news would end for the Bucks. Shaking off any potential hangover from blowing Game 1, Gen.G Tigers came out in Game 2 looking even sharper than they had for most of the opening contest.
While the Shanghai club found their rhythm behind their own rookie point guard, ShiftyKaii, putting on a show, the Bucks’ offense began to stutter almost to a halt, driven largely by countless turnovers.
A 93-58 loss in Game 2 was followed up by a similarly flat effort in Game 3, as the Tigers prevailed 85-64 to claim an overall win.
The Bucks will be off again next week and will need to take advantage of their chance to regroup, before returning to action against the Pacers and Pistons in Gameweek 6.
