Appearing yet again on CNBC Thursday afternoon, Milwaukee Bucks co-owner Marc Lasry pointed to the league voting on a plan to restart the 2019-20 season coming next week.

Milwaukee Bucks co-owner Marc Lasry continues to break news when it comes to the big discussions at hand for the NBA and restarting the 2019-20 season.

As he has done over the last few Thursdays with his weekly appearances on CNBC’s “Halftime” program, Lasry has provided updates and insights on what the league and all 30 owners have been hashing out when it comes to looking to pick up play again.

Yesterday was no different in that regard and CNBC’s Jabari Young rounded up Lasry’s comments on what the Board of Governors will be discussing Friday afternoon with NBA commissioner Adam Silver.

When asked by ‘Halftime’ host Kevin Stankiewicz about when a vote could come up to the Board of Governors, Lasry laid out what’s on deck for Friday’s big meeting with all 30 owners:

"“I think what will happen tomorrow is that Adam’s going to recommend to the board the different options that we’re going to have about reopening,” Lasry said. “And I think the board will think about it over the weekend and then hopefully have another meeting early next week to vote on what we all feel will be the reopening of the NBA.”"

As a follow up, Lasry disclosed that after owners deliberate which return-to-play scenarios they’re all in favor for, a vote could come as early as next week and offered up the varying number of teams that may end up going to Orlando when play picks back up again:

"“I think at the end of the day, we’ll be in Orlando at Disney,” Lasry said. “The question is going to be will we have all 30 teams there or will we have 24; whatever the number will end up being. But hopefully, by the middle of July, we start playing again.”"

Milwaukee Bucks co-owner Marc Lasry has been consistent in laying out his thoughts on the next steps toward a restart for the NBA.

Of course, Lasry has been very consistent with with the six-to-eight week timeline that he talked about during his appearance last week.

Clearly, all of the discussions and reports regarding how and when the NBA is planning its return are building momentum, with this weekend being critical as discussions now pivot to the say and input of the league’s owners.

With The Athletic’s Shams Charania ($$) reporting earlier this month that Silver has aimed for a 2-to-4 week timetable on whether to continue this season or not, how discussions play out Friday afternoon will give us a temperature check on where things stand.

Next. Bucks' title pursuit for 2019-20 season will be anything but traditional. dark

Clearly, Lasry has been up front with his wishes and desires for the season to continue. While many owners surely agree with him, in which way all 30 NBA owners wish to move forward with the season will be very fascinating to watch.
