When the NBA returns next month, the playoffs will await the Milwaukee Bucks and some anticipate it will be the perfect stage for Donte DiVincenzo.

The Milwaukee Bucks have waited a long time for their playoff redemption.

Of course, that wait has gone on longer than anyone could have expected as the coronavirus pandemic has disrupted the 2019-20 NBA season and the Bucks’ pursuit of winning an NBA championship for the time being.

Slowly but surely, though, that pursuit will ramp back up as the NBA has started to fill out their return-to-play plan, which will include the Bucks and 21 other NBA teams to finish out the season within Walt Disney World in Orlando.

Certainly, many hurdles stand in the way of this plan coming to fruition without coming across any danger. But once all systems are go, the postseason won’t be all that far away and all eyes will be on the Bucks, given what’s at stake for them this year.

That attention will certainly revolve around superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo for a variety of reasons, but there is an expectation that one other Bucks player, that being Donte DiVincenzo, may look to soak up the enhanced spotlight in his own right.

In a recent article by ESPN’s Tim Bontemps that focused on the return of the NBA next month at Walt Disney World, DiVincenzo was among the young players that league insiders view as potential breakout candidate for the playoffs.

There will obviously be no shortage of young stars, whether it’s Luka Doncic, Zion Williamson, Ja Morant and many others, that will be well suited to taking advantage of the national spotlight as many insiders told Bontemps and as their respective teams look to make some noise in the playoffs as well.

The fact that DiVincenzo is thought of within the realm of such promising stars and even potential future faces of the league under this context just shows how much of a mark he’s made on what has been a veteran-laden Bucks team this season.

There’s no question that the Villanova product comes packing an exciting game, whether it’s his relentless energy, disruptive defending and propensity for scoring outbursts, that is worthy of commanding even the casual fan’s attention. Certainly, DiVincenzo’s performance during Villanova’s win over the University of Michigan in the NCAA Championship more than two years ago shows he’s very capable of supplying game-breaking performances.

That is a high standard to live up to, especially within the context and competition level of the NBA, but the flashes and steady growth that DiVincenzo has shown on both ends of the floor over his sophomore season has caught the eye of all Bucks fans. In turn, all Bucks fans have long thought of how the 22-year-old can make a difference when their playoff run does tip off, albeit in Orlando.

Soon enough, we will finally got our chance to see that and with DiVincenzo’s do-it-all role, it could prove to be incredibly useful in helping the Bucks being to win an NBA title, under the unlikeliest of circumstances, this season.
