The Milwaukee Bucks’ 2K League affiliate, Bucks Gaming, broke records en route to a win over CLTX Gaming on Tuesday night.

Things have certainly been looking up for Bucks Gaming of late, and it seems like there may finally be a 2K League team for Milwaukee Bucks fans to really get excited about and invested in.

To be clear, if you weren’t already following or have been interested in what exactly the NBA 2K League is like but haven’t taken the lunge yet, know that this 2020 Bucks Gaming squad is good and should be the team to convince a lot more Wisconsin-based fans to tune in to the NBA’s esports product.

More from Bucks News

Prior to Tuesday night, Bucks Gaming had won two league matches in a row, picking up victories against Pistons GT and Pacers Gaming, while they also more recently advanced from group play against Knicks Gaming and Blazer5 Gaming in The Tip-Off tournament, before falling to the league-leading Raptors Uprising in the quarter-finals.

Against a hapless Celtics Crossover Gaming, or CLTX Gaming, who have yet to win a league game this season, the Bucks only further pressed on in terms of building their momentum.

Most notably of all, though, the Bucks didn’t just come away with a comfortable 2-0 series win over CLTX Gaming, but they grabbed a major slice of 2K League history in the process.

When Raptors Uprising logged 109 points in a single game a couple of weeks ago, a new single game scoring record was set and wasn’t necessarily something that anyone was anticipating being toppled in the immediate future.

But that’s exactly what Bucks Gaming did on Tuesday night thanks to a pair of truly phenomenal performances. It took a fourth quarter outburst of 41 points to seal the deal, but with Regg pouring in 54 points and 10 assists, Arooks adding 30 points and five assists, and Ty stepping up with a supporting 19 point effort, Milwaukee cruised to their historic 55-point win.

With just one more win needed to claim the overall match victory, the Bucks perhaps suffered something of a hangover to start Game 2.

Still, in spite of trailing by 10 points at half time, the Bucks again showed an ability to really dial up their game and kick on when needed. Regg again led the way with a strong second half effort, finishing with 43 points and six assists overall, setting up a final score of 78-64 in the Bucks’ favor.

With three consecutive league wins now, Bucks Gaming will carry some real momentum forward into next week when they’ll play twice. Importantly, Milwaukee is finally above .500 with a 5-4 record on the season, meaning their playoff aspirations are very much alive.
