There have been plenty of memorable nicknames throughout the history of the Milwaukee Bucks, but which of them rank as the best?

What’s in a nickname? The Milwaukee Bucks sure haven’t gone about worrying about such a thing in quite some time.

Throughout their many eras and periods of history, the Bucks have had a number of players  celebrated throughout the franchise and in turn, have earned some of the most memorable nicknames throughout NBA history.

Now, having combed through the Basketball-Reference pages for all 409 players who suited up for the Bucks over the last 52 years, we’re putting that up to the test, through the lens of the Bucks’ own history.

First, some ground rules. Being a Basketball-Reference verified nickname is a must and originality has been very encouraged (i.e. going beyond just relying on initials, etc). And bonus points are being given for nicknames that were coined during a player’s time in Milwaukee.

That isn’t much of a challenge, given that the Bucks were once graced by one of the best announcers to do it in Eddie Doucette, who personally has no shortage of nicknames for Bucks players both past and present. And that’s carried on to Ted Davis, the Bucks’ current radio announcer, the Fox Sports Wisconsin crew helmed by both Jim Paschke and Bucks great, Marques Johnson.

So without further ado, let’s dive into some of the greatest nicknames bestowed on Bucks players throughout the team’s history, starting with a certain reigning Most Valuable Player.
