Frank Mason III stands as the reigning G League MVP, but will the two-way player play a role for the Milwaukee Bucks going into the season restart?
It was nearly a year ago when Frank Mason III arrived to the Milwaukee Bucks on a mission to resuscitate his young NBA career.
Mason was only two years removed from entering the NBA as the 34th overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft after finishing an incredibly memorable and accomplished career at the University of Kansas. And Mason had capped off his run with the Jayhawks by being named Naismith Player of the Year for the 2016-17 season.

The 26-year-old appeared set up to carve out a nice niche as a steady backup ball-handler upon landing with the Sacramento Kings as they looked to get their rebuild off the ground.
But somewhere along the way, Mason lost traction and took some significant steps back that led to his unceremonious release not long into last year’s free agency.
What was the Kings’ loss turned out to be the Bucks’ gain as Mason fully bounced back upon joining the Bucks’ organization on a two-way contract.
Thanks to his glittering play when down with the Bucks’ G League affiliate, the Wisconsin Herd, who had gone on to finish with a G League-leading 33-10 record, Mason was eventually named this year’s G League MVP. And time will tell whether Mason has something left up his sleeve, should he get a chance to play a role in the Bucks’ restart down in Orlando.
So without further ado, let’s review what Frank Mason III had accomplished before the 2019-20 season was suspended and speculate on how he could help the Bucks moving forward when they kick off their season again in Orlando.
