Marvin Williams was only getting his feet wet with the Milwaukee Bucks before season was suspended and will have to jumpstart his game when things pick back up again.

As the Milwaukee Bucks quickly climbed to the top of the NBA this 2019-20 season, their continuity was very much entrenched, especially after an offseason that was spent retaining their core players.

Combine that with building on the foundation that they laid down under Mike Budenholzer’s first year in Milwaukee last season and the Bucks have only used their blueprint to catapult them to have the league’s best record for the second straight year.

For those reasons and plenty more, it appeared as if the Bucks would adhere to the ‘if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it’ adage when it came time to wading through the waters around the time of the NBA trade deadline.

But not long after this year’s deadline passed, the Bucks opted to make a personnel change by bringing veteran forward Marvin Williams on board after he negotiated a buyout with the Charlotte Hornets.

By bringing in Williams, the Bucks added yet another level-headed, reliable contributor who they felt could give them some boost for very little cost (apologies to former Buck, Dragan Bender).

And in the short time before the season stopped, we got a brief glimpse of how Williams could help the Bucks off the bench and make his mark with the team’s established frontcourt. Though, that isn’t to say major improvements will have to be made to fully realize his fit in Milwaukee going into the 2019-20 restart.

So without further ado, let’s review Marvin Williams’ 2019-20 season and assess some of the big questions that hang over the rest of his season with the Milwaukee Bucks.
