The Milwaukee Bucks’ regular season campaign came to a close on a down note against the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday afternoon.

The Milwaukee Bucks‘ seeding games in Orlando have turned out to be a colossal anti-climax, and therefore a closing loss to the Memphis Grizzlies seems like a pretty apt way to wrap things up.

The Bucks entered the bubble with little to play for over the seeding game portion of their schedule, and it turns out that may not necessarily provide the ideal mindset for competition.

With the Grizzlies requiring a win to keep their prospects of making the play-in game for the Western Conference’s eighth seed alive, and the Bucks simply hoping to get the game over with so they could start their playoff campaign, there was never much doubt about the likely end result.

That’s very much how the game itself played out too, as without the suspended Giannis Antetokounmpo and injured Wesley Matthews, Mike Budenholzer curtailed the minutes totals for his most important players with the top priority being avoiding injury.

That allowed the Grizzlies to take an early lead and never look back from there, giving them a result that rewarded former Bucks assistant Taylor Jenkins with a play-in game for his first season as a head coach.

With all of that considered, let’s take a closer look at some of the game’s key takeaways.
