5 guards for Milwaukee Bucks to target at 24th overall pick – Malachi Flynn

After a banner year leading San Diego State to a dream season and being named both the Mountain West Player of the Year and the Mountain West Defensive Player of the Year, Malachi Flynn is making the jump to the NBA.

The Ringer’s Kevin O’Connor recently divulged that Flynn’s draft stock is on the rise at this point in the process. Along with that, ESPN’s Mike Schmitz ($$) recently pointed to Flynn being a prospect that could offer an immediate impact, especially within the late first round range he has increasingly been projected at.

Our Cody Larson recently profiled Flynn and Flynn’s many strengths certainly overlap with the playmaking and shot creation needs that the Bucks have to bolster within their roster just as their playoff performance showed this year. The playmaking and pick-and-roll polish that the 22-year-old provides certainly stands out immediately and Flynn’s level of shotmaking and perimeter shooting only enhances his case to the Bucks’ front office over this process.

Even as he has concerns over his size and average athleticism and explosiveness, Flynn’s skills and well-rounded skill set would certainly be a snug fit within the hierarchy of the Bucks’ foundation led by Giannis Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton and on down.

There’s no shortage of playoff teams and potential title contenders like the Bucks that are in need of what Flynn brings to the table. Whether he’s on the board at 24 and whether the Bucks ultimately hang on to their pick remains to be seen.
