An eventful Saturday continues for the Milwaukee Bucks as Cameron Reynolds is reportedly heading to the San Antonio Spurs.

The Milwaukee Bucks have been very active this Saturday with free agency in full swing.

The latest bit of news out of Milwaukee involves two-way player Cameron Reynolds, who is reportedly on the move. Per ESPN’s Tim MacMahon, the 25-year-old swingman is on his way to the San Antonio Spurs. MacMahon reported that the deal was for a one-year contract, soon after adding that it was an Exhibit 10.

To put it simply, an Exhibit 10 is essentially a non-guaranteed deal that will give the signee a bonus if they get waived and join that team’s G-League affiliate. Reynolds’ has commonly played in the G-League after going undrafted in 2018, so this deal is justifiable. In fact, Reynolds kicked off his career in the G-league with the Sacramento Kings affiliate for 33 games.

He then earned a pair of 10-day contracts from the Minnesota Timberwolves in the 2018-19 season and even an extension but was soon waived. That was Reynolds’ only genuine shot in the NBA, as he has played just 19 total NBA games in his career. Throughout that span, the undrafted guard averaged 5.0 points on a .423/.412/.889 slash line, 1.6 rebounds, and 0.7 assists across 13.6 minutes per game.

Many Bucks fans might not be too familiar with Reynolds, which is entirely feasible, given that he has never suited up in an NBA game with the team. After those shorts stints in Sacramento and Minnesota, Reynolds signed with the Milwaukee Bucks on a two-way deal last offseason in another attempt to earn himself a stable deal. He spent the entirety of the 2019-20 season with Milwaukee’s G-League affiliate, the Wisconsin Herd, and had a solid campaign to bolster his case.

Across 37 games, Reynolds averaged 14.8 points on .420/.343/.667 shooting splits, 5.2 rebounds, and 1.7 assists across 31.6 minutes per contest. The San Antonio Spurs clearly saw something they liked in Reynolds, and hopefully, they can maximize his potential moving forward.

Cameron Reynolds becomes the latest member of the Wisconsin Herd to take the next step forward in landing a standard contract.

Reynolds played alongside Frank Mason III periodically with the Herd this season, who recently received some good news himself. After winning the G-League’s Most Valuable Player award on a two-way deal, the Milwaukee Bucks reportedly tendered a qualifying offer for $1.5 million for the guard, making him an unrestricted free agent they are clearly high on.

Another instance, one that occurred just hours ago, was the announcement that the Milwaukee Bucks would be re-signing two-way guard Jaylen Adams, who also spent the entirety of the season in the G-League as Reynolds’ teammate. Adams also continues working towards landing a standard deal after a short stint in the NBA, and this new two-way contract is another step in eventually getting there.

The same logic applies to Reynolds as he heads to San Antonio, although their overloaded plethora of guard talent will make it far more challenging to earn a name for himself. Nevertheless, there is a new opportunity waiting for Reynolds, and we undoubtedly wish him the best of luck moving forward after spending the 2019-20 season with the Wisconsin Herd.
