Milwaukee Bucks Rumors: Agreed to a two-year deal with Bryn Forbes
According to an ESPN report, the Milwaukee Bucks have agreed to a two-year deal with sharpshooter Byrn Forbes, formerly of the San Antonio Spurs.
The Milwaukee Bucks have now gone bargain hunting in free agency as we’re one month out from the start of the 2020-21 season.
First reported by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Bucks have agreed to a two-year deal with sharpshooting 2-guard Bryn Forbes. As Woj noted in a follow up tweet, the second year in Forbes’ deal comes with a (wait for it) player option and it’s presumed that he will be signing on a veteran minimum deal after having four years of NBA service.

Forbes comes by way of the San Antonio Spurs where he had played the first fours of his NBA career after having initially gone undrafted in the 2016 NBA Draft.
After a strong showing in camp, the Michigan State product managed to lock down a roster spot going into the 2016-17 season and provided the starting point to his NBA career.
Even as he needed some time in the G league to season his sharpshooting skill set, Forbes emerged as a solid rotation player as the Spurs have gone into their rebuilding situation after the trade of Kawhi Leonard.
What does Bryn Forbes bring to the table now that he’s reportedly coming to the Milwaukee Bucks?
As has been the overarching theme to the Bucks’ offseason moves, between their draft and free agency moves, they get another high-level shooter to put around their franchise cornerstones.
A career 40 percent 3-point shooter, Forbes certainly brings instant offense to a Bucks guard rotation that needs a shooting spark, especially after their slew of moves this offseason. For the 2019-20 season, Forbes averaged 11.2 points on .417/.388/.833 shooting splits, 2 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 0.5 steals across 25.1 minutes per game in 63 appearances.
With the Spurs moving further into their rebuild situation and with plenty of guards leading their youth movement, Forbes became a roster casualty. But it’s safe to say that he’s landing in a great spot, especially as it relates to the Bucks’ title aspirations.
Now Forbes joins Pat Connaughton, Donte DiVincenzo and Sam Merrill in the Bucks’ wing rotation. And now we can add former Denver Nuggets wing Torrey Craig into the equation, per Woj.
The picture is gradually coming together for the Bucks as it comes to filling out their entire roster. Now Forbes will look to bring his brand of sharpshooting to Milwaukee and continue his rise of being an undrafted success story in the NBA.
