The Milwaukee Bucks have done their heavy lifting when it comes to their offseason moves, but some pretty big questions still remain.

To describe the Milwaukee Bucks’ offseason as a grand opening, grand closing would be pretty apt.

With the start of the 2020-21 season nearly three weeks away, the Bucks had plenty of urgency to thread a tight needle while pursuing upgrades to their roster with the future of Giannis Antetokounmpo looming over everything they do.

That led to the Bucks acquiring one of the best two-way players in the league with Jrue Holiday and they left no stone unturned in making over their roster and reshaping their depth through free agency and the draft.

Now with 14 players under guaranteed contracts as well as their 20-man roster filled on the cusp of starting training camp Tuesday, the Bucks are close to starting what will be one of the biggest seasons in franchise history.

But after all of the work they have done in overhauling their roster, let’s dig into some of the biggest questions facing the Bucks going into the start of training camp.

The Milwaukee Bucks will have to conjure up some quick chemistry

Normally, the Bucks would use training camp to get everybody back up to speed and integrate any and all new additions into the fold over a month-long period before the start of an NBA season.

This year, Milwaukee is working with a tighter timeline before the December 22 start date after having significantly changed up their roster from nearly the top on down. Only seven players remain from last year’s roster and of the few free agents they had this offseason, only Pat Connaughton has made his return back to Milwaukee to this point.

Their backcourt of Eric Bledsoe and Goerge Hill has changed out for Holiday and their biggest free agent signing, D.J. Augustin. The departure of Wesley Matthews has left open a spot in their everyday starting lineup on the wing where they have no shortage of candidates from Connaughton, Torrey Craig, Donte DiVincenzo and Bryn Forbes.

Of course, acclimating Holiday into the fold will be the biggest challenge the Bucks have going for them this offseason as they haven’t had such foundational change to their system since first acquiring Bledsoe more than three years ago.

A lot is riding on Holiday finding his place in Milwaukee very quickly and while the Bucks’ previous regular season success will be used against them in terms of projecting their title hopes, they aren’t the same team that fell on their face the last two years.
