The Milwaukee Bucks thoroughly reshaped their roster this offseason through trades and free agency, but who should be in the starting lineup?

After a hectic offseason full of twists and turns, training camp is nearly here for the Milwaukee Bucks, and there are a handful of fresh faces in attendance.

Milwaukee spent a considerable amount of cash and draft capital to reshape their roster after last season’s disappointing close to the postseason. In the process, Milwaukee lost both starters in the backcourt, with Wesley Matthews signing a deal with the Los Angeles Lakers and Eric Bledsoe being moved to New Orleans in the four-team trade that netted the Bucks Jrue Holiday.

Now, with the 2020-21 season officially just a few weeks away, it is up to the Bucks to piece together an adequate starting five that best puts them in a position to compete for a championship.

With their depth shored up thanks to several new acquisitions, here is a look at the Milwaukee Bucks projected starting five for next season.

Starting point guard – Jrue Holiday

Upgrading at the point guard position was atop the Milwaukee Bucks’ to-do list this offseason, and they hit a home-run after they acquired Jrue Holiday. The guard has been among the elite two-way players in the league for years now, and he will take over ball-handling duties in the backcourt for the Bucks next season.

Holiday brings a newfound balance of playmaking and shooting at the point guard position that the Bucks desperately needed. On top of that, his stature as a two-time All-Defense honoree will ensure that Milwaukee does not miss a beat on defense.

The Bucks put all of their chips in to acquire Holiday, having traded away Bledsoe, Hill, three future first round draft picks, and the rights to two future pick swaps. The franchise clearly has faith that Holiday can help erase their postseason shortcomings, especially considering he can become a free agent after this coming season.

Only time will tell if he is their long-awaited answer at the point guard position, but he certainly has the necessary qualities.
