Milwaukee Bucks: 3 goals for Brook Lopez for 2020-21 season
As Brook Lopez enters his third season with the Milwaukee Bucks, we detail three goals that will make his own 2020-21 campaign a successful one.
Much has changed for the Milwaukee Bucks this offseason, but what hasn’t changed is their man standing in the middle.
Going into his third season in Milwaukee, Brook Lopez remains incredibly important to the Bucks’ foundation as they go into a 2020-21 campaign that is full of grand expectations. That naturally comes when the Bucks have made the kind of all-in move with the Jrue Holiday trade last month.

As many new additions the Bucks have made through the draft, trade and free agency, with Holiday headlining them all, Lopez will be one of the key players for the Bucks to rely on to maintain some level of continuity through one of their cornerstone players.
With that in mind, let’s delve into and hand out three goals for Brook Lopez to achieve this season as the Milwaukee Bucks look to vie for an NBA title.
Goal no. 1 – Fully regain 3-point consistency
After having struggled shooting the ball for the vast majority of the 2019-20 season, the Bucks need Lopez to regain his consistency with the long ball.
We all saw Lopez find his shooting touch again during the Bucks’ ill-fated run down in the bubble after months of misfiring from beyond the arc. As brief as that surge may have been, it helped Lopez finish the season out with a still-subpar 31.4 percent from three and shoot 39.6 percent during the Bucks’ 10 postseason games.
That late season uptick did glossy up what still stands as one of Lopez’ least efficient shooting seasons over his career, as evidenced by his 55.1 true shooting percentage.
Going into a brand new season, though, hitting shots at such a clip simply won’t cut it, especially for a Bucks team that is looking to enhance their offensive firepower. Considering that Lopez stands central in providing the spacing that’s necessary for making their five-out system work in the first place, being able to be a consistent shooting threat from that range will go a long way in getting the offensive jump the Bucks are seeking this season.
