Milwaukee Bucks: A case for and against James Harden trade
By Dalton Sell
Trade rumors have been swirling around James Harden and the Milwaukee Bucks in recent weeks as the 2020-21 season inches closer.
The Milwaukee Bucks and Houston Rockets have been heavily featured in news headlines over the past week, although for very different reasons.
Having requested a trade earlier this offseason, Rockets guard James Harden has made it clear on numerous occasions that he wants out of Houston. Meanwhile, Giannis Antetokounmpo inked his signature on a five-year supermax extension that will see him remain with the Bucks for the long haul.

While these two stories are on opposite sides of the spectrum, Antetokounmpo and Harden have also been involved in several headlines together.
This comes as a result of The Athletic’s Shams Charania having reported last week that Harden added Milwaukee to his list of preferred trade destinations as he remains persistent on playing elsewhere next season.
However, The Athletic’s Sam Amick ($$) reported Thursday that the Bucks are not expected to pursue Harden following Antetokounmpo’s supermax agreement. They likely cannot make much of an impression in the Harden sweepstakes, to begin with, compared to other potential suitors, but the thought has to be gripping to some extent.
The idea of Milwaukee swinging a trade for the 2017-18 league MVP has been a mixed consensus among the Bucks fandom. Some love the idea, while others dread it, and there is surely an argument to make for both sides. Fans are torn when it comes to pondering the idea of bringing in the disgruntled superstar, but here is a case for and against the Milwaukee Bucks trading for James Harden.
