The Milwaukee Bucks finished the preseason with an 0-3 record, showing that they have much to improve on going into the start of the 2020-21 season.

To say that it was a wild offseason for the Milwaukee Bucks would be an understatement.

Through all the twists and turns, we are now just a few days away from the start of the 2020-21 NBA season and the Bucks are fresh off of wrapping up their brief preseason slate against the New Orleans Pelicans Friday night.

Although Milwaukee went winless throughout the shortened preseason, there were several promising things to take away from their three-game stretch. However, there was also no shortage of shortcomings for the team to address ahead of next season.

Without further ado, here are three areas in need of improvement for the Milwaukee Bucks following their preseason stretch.

No. 3 – Defending the perimeter

While the Bucks struggled to hit their 3-point shots in the preseason, their opponents did not face such adversity. Between two matchups against the Dallas Mavericks and Friday night’s finale against thePelicans, Milwaukee’s opponents shot 40.8 percent from behind the arc per game.

This issue has plagued the Bucks since Mike Budenholzer took over as the head coach two seasons ago, and it is still looming large entering his third season at the helm.

While the preseason perimeter defense has been subpar, the Bucks have several defensive aces that are more than capable of fixing this issue.

Along with the returning Donte DiVincenzo, Milwaukee added Jrue Holiday and Torrey Craig this offseason, and that trio should spark some much-needed effort defensively from behind the arc. Whether that comes to pass remains to be seen, but the Bucks certainly need some time in honing their defensive steel.
