Following an opening night loss, the Milwaukee Bucks will face the Golden State Warriors in an early Christmas Day matchup at Fiserv Forum.

After both having lost their opening games, the Milwaukee Bucks and Golden State Warriors are set to square off this Christmas Day.

Golden State kicked off the 2020-21 NBA season against the Brooklyn Nets at the Barclays Center Tuesday night, having walked away with a 125-99 defeat. The new-look Nets led by Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving outmatched the injury-riddled Warriors and Brooklyn took care of business with relative ease.

On the other hand, Milwaukee played their season opener against the Boston Celtics down to the wire. A clutch 3-pointer from Boston’s Jayson Tatum gave the Celtics the two-point lead with 0.4 seconds left, and a missed free-throw from Giannis Antetokounmpo sealed the Bucks’ heartwrenching defeat.

Now, these two teams will look to get to .500 on the season, and here are three things to watch for in the Milwaukee Bucks’ matchup against the Golden State Warriors.

The Milwaukee Bucks’ track record of bouncing back after a loss

Throughout the past two years under head coach Mike Budenholzer, the Bucks have done very little losing in the regular season. Within that timeframe, they have lost back-to-back games just five times, including just one three-game losing streak.

Milwaukee has been historically great under Budenholzer following regular season losses, and his team will be put to the test early on this year. The Bucks now start the season 0-1 for the first time in the past two seasons and immediately must dig themselves out of a hole.

Coming off a loss typically bodes well for the Bucks, and they will undoubtedly be eager to get back on the right track against the Warriors. While many factors will play into Milwaukee getting the bounce-back victory, shutting down Stephen Curry certainly resides near the top of the list.
