The Milwaukee Bucks are sitting pretty at the All-Star break with a 22-14 record.

Having won six of their last seven games going into the break, which was capped off by their thrilling 112-111 win over the Memphis Grizzlies, the Bucks were in the midst of playing some of their best basketball of this 2020-21 season.

Hopefully that can continue once they start up the second half of their season versus the New York Knicks on Thursday night at Fiserv Forum and now that they are at full strength with the return of Jrue Holiday.

So without further ado, let’s hand out the three stars of the week for the Milwaukee Bucks.

Giannis Antetokounmpo is the first star of the week for the Milwaukee Bucks

This one is fairly simple. The newly crowned All-Star Game MVP had a dominant week, even in what was a short week, and especially in his remarkable All-Star performance.

Even without his All-Star performance, Giannis Antetokounmpo played a dominant game in Memphis on Thursday and would have likely received the first star honor of this week, but you cannot get more dominant than Giannis was during the All-Star game where he scored 35 points on perfect 16-for-16 shooting, including 3-for-3 from beyond the arc.

The emotion of seeing Antetokounmpo raise the Kobe Bryant All-Star Game MVP trophy was more powerful than I thought it would ever be and Antetokounmpo certainly celebrated the honor in stride, just as he has done all season long.

While declaring his All-Star MVP trophy was for Milwaukee a la LeBron James winning the 2016 NBA title with the Cleveland Cavaliers, one can only imagine what Antetokounmpo will look like upon hoisting the Larry O’Brien trophy.
