The 2K League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks, Bucks Gaming, is gearing up for the 2021 2K League season.

Bucks Gaming made huge strides in their third season of existence, all of which was headlined by earning their first-ever playoff berth and finishing with a 10-6 record last year. Their first foray into the playoffs, though, ended in an incredibly heartbreaking fashion, which put a damper on what was finally a breakthrough season for the club.

Still, the arrival of superstar point guard and the 2020 2K League Rookie of the Year, Regg, elevated the squad while long-time Bucks Gaming veterans ARooks and Plondo ascended to new heights. It’s that core that Bucks Gaming chose to retain not long after the conclusion of the 2K League season last year.

While they have big shoes to fill regarding the departures of Squidris, Ty and ChaChingSingh, Bucks Gaming is hoping they did just that through the 2K League Draft, which was held Saturday night.

Milwaukee Bucks Gaming made three selections in this year’s 2K League Draft.

With their first of three selections, Bucks Gaming selected Lotty with the 18th overall pick. A longtime 2K League veteran after having logged previous stops with Heat Check Gaming and most recently Jazz Gaming, Lotty, known as Lytel Martin, reunites with ARooks as both played 2K together before becoming mainstays in the 2K League.

Lotty is coming off a 2020 season in which he averaged 12.6 points on .692/.614/.778 shooting, 2.2 steals, 1.5 assists and a rebound in his 17 regular season appearances with Jazz Gaming.

While Bucks Gaming went with an experienced veteran with their first round pick, they went with a newcomer to the 2K League by selecting Komp a.k.a Benjamin Leal with the 37th overall pick.

Last but not least, Bucks Gaming rounded out their draft night by taking Big Perm, otherwise known as Vincent Valerio, with the 54th overall selection. One of the oldest prospects in the player pool this draft, Valerio has grinded in his pursuit to make the 2K League while juggling duties as a father as well as being a licensed attorney, which was spotlighted in the 2K League’s primer of pre-draft storylines:

"“Vincent “Big Perm” Valerio is a licensed attorney.  The Brooklyn, N.Y., native practiced law for more than two years and now is looking to prove his case in the NBA 2K League.”"

With their roster now set, we’ll have to wait to see when Bucks Gaming will kick on their fourth campaign with the upcoming 2K League season. There’s no question that with their core as well as their new additions made through the draft, they’ll look to make bigger noise after breaking through last year.
