The Hawks, meanwhile, have won three of their last four games since last meeting against the Bucks, which ended up in a 120-109 victory in favor of Milwaukee.
So without further ado, let’s preview the Milwaukee Bucks’ final clash with the Atlanta Hawks this 2020-21 season.
Milwaukee Bucks will face an Hawks team that’s without Trae Young
Sunday night will mark the second time that the Bucks will face the Hawks this season where Atlanta will be without Trae Young after he suffered a Grade 2 left ankle sprain during a meeting with the New York Knicks last week.
Of course, the Bucks showed in their lone meeting against Young that they were capable of shutting him down in that aforementioned victory over the Hawks earlier this month. Bucks guard Jrue Holiday, in particular, made life incredibly difficult for Young all throughout that win.
The Hawks’ supporting cast stepped up in the face of the Hawks’ struggles and they continue to do so as the Hawks continue to make their second half surge and currently stand fifth in the East. And the Bucks’ primary focus on the scouting report going into Sunday night will center around Hawks guard Bogdan Bogdanovic, who finished with a team-leading 28 points on 10-for-20 shooting (6-of-12 from three) and seven assists in over 38 minutes of run back on April 15.
Bogdanovic has certainly showed that he’s capable of stepping up without Young and he will have the lion’s share of attention faced towards him from the Bucks’ perspective. Whether they’re able to slow down the Serbian international is the bigger question.
As a side note, the Hawks may also be without their big man, Clint Capela, who is listed as questionable with a back contusion on the league’s latest injury report.
