It’s those latter two marks that certainly stand high in the Bucks’ record books. Forbes’ 61.1 effective field percentage stands second only to George Hill’s 62.4 effective field goal percentage that was set last season, per StatMuse. Forbes’ 62.4 true shooting percentage ranks fourth in Bucks history and currently stands behind Hill as well as superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo in that department.
Bryn Forbes has greatly benefited in joining the Milwaukee Bucks this season
Forbes has certainly ramped up his push to stand atop of the Bucks’ record books based on his play since the All-Star break. Now on a run of having scored double digits in the Bucks’ last six games, Forbes is up to averaging 11 points .471/.442/.821 shooting in his 29 appearances since the All-Star break.
As his individual play has trended upwards towards the conclusion of the regular season, Milwaukee has increasingly been at their best over Forbes’ minutes on the court. The fifth-year sharpshooter has a +8.1 net rating in his 596 minutes since the break and he’s certainly gained from playing alongside the Bucks’ top players of Antetokounmpo, Jrue Holiday and Khris Middleton.
With all of that in mind, it’s certainly understandable why some Bucks fans have felt that Forbes should take the place of Donte DiVincenzo in the team’s starting lineup. While that debate rages on heading into the Bucks’ playoff run, the overall point that the Bucks, specifically Mike Budenholzer and the rest of the team’s coaching staff, have maximized his Forbes’ skill set and fit to the fullest.
To that point, Forbes ranks among the most prolific catch-and-shoot threats in the league by shooting 124-for-270 on such looks from long distance, good for 45.9 percent. And Forbes averages a league-best 0.506 points per touch by an incredibly vast margin.
Due to the incredible amount of success he’s enjoyed individually and the fact that Forbes is playing regular role in the Bucks’ rotation every night, he has quite the decision to make in regards to his $2.4 million player option this coming offseason.
There’s still plenty of time that stands between now and when that decision will be made, but Forbes will look to maintain his high-level sharpshooting when it matters most. As of now, it has surely stood the test of time as far as Bucks history goes.
