The Milwaukee Bucks certainly showcased their resiliency in last night’s Game 3 against the Brooklyn Nets at Fiserv Forum.

Despite the many issues that plagued the Bucks, including an ice-cold shooting night, turnovers galore, and little help from anyone not named Giannis Antetokounmpo or Khris Middleton, they managed to pull out a victory. Taking down the Nets 86-83 in a low-scoring affair, this team is still hanging on to their playoff lives with a chance to keep this series competitive.

If they can indeed turn things around and give the Nets a run for their money, the Bucks will need some better individual performances from several key players after Game 3 was more of a two-man game than anything from their perspective.

With that being said, here are individual grades for the Bucks’ second unit, starting five, and their opponent based on their performances in last night’s wire-to-wire finish in Milwaukee.

How did the Milwaukee Bucks’ bench perform in Game 3 victory over the Brooklyn Nets?

D. Head coach Mike Budenholzer finally let go of the leash and let his starters play extended minutes, meaning the reserves saw their minutes cut down significantly. Yet, they had a minimal impact when they were fortunate enough to see time, most notably Bryn Forbes. Finishing with 15 minutes of action, the most among any reserve, Forbes finished with zero points on 0-for-4 shooting from 3-point range. He continues struggling to find his shot in this series, and the Bucks could desperately use that sweet shooting of his at any moment. Meanwhile, big man Bobby Portis was slightly more impactful as he finished with four points, six rebounds, an assist, and a steal in just over 11-and-a-half minutes. Portis was stuck to the sidelines for most of the night, but he made good when he did get some burn for the most part. Pat Connaughton also saw his playing time cut down as he logged just under 13 minutes, finishing with two points and three rebounds. Lastly, Thanasis Antetokounmpo may have played just 25 seconds in totality, but he undoubtedly left his mark in this game and got the crowd on their feet by coming in clutch with a blocked shot. His energetic presence in that short time helped give the team and a much-needed spark when things were looking bleak. Overall, it was a night tailor-made for the starters, so the second unit should not be held to a fault too much as the Bucks needed every last one of those six points they contributed.. .
