For the Nets, not only has this series been flipped on its head, but the hits keep on coming after the injury to star guard Kyrie Irving. Irving went down with a nasty sprained ankle midway through the second quarter and the losses are quickly piling up for Brooklyn at an inopportune time clearly.
So without further ado, let’s dive deep into the Milwaukee Bucks’ massive Game 4 victory over the Brooklyn Nets from Sunday afternoon.
P.J. Tucker sparks the Milwaukee Bucks in Game 4 win over Nets
Well that’s why the Bucks made such a priority to acquire P.J. Tucker midway through the season, huh?
Tucker delivered his best performance of the season since arriving to Milwaukee nearly three months ago as he finished with 13 points on 5-of-8 shooting (3-for-6 from deep), seven rebounds, an assist and a steal in over 29 minutes of action.
The gritty veteran left his imprint on the game by putting in tireless and often thankless defense on Kevin Durant, just as he has throughout the entire series so far. Tucker has increasingly bothered his fellow Longhorn alum as the series has gone on and Tucker’s steely presence played a part in the Brooklyn superstar posted his worst game of the series so far with 28 points on 25 shots (1-for-8 from three), 13 rebounds and five assists.
On the other end, Tucker sprinkled in his trademark corner threes that played a critical part in swinging the game towards the Bucks’ way midway through the first half. Tucker’s second and third triples came during the Bucks’ massive 21-6 second quarter run that ultimately propelled the Bucks past the Nets.
While the Bucks were steadied by their leading stars, it was the energy, hustle and heart that Tucker has gradually shown over the series that really jumpstarted Milwaukee on the day. And the Bucks will continue relying on Tucker’s energy and presence.
