Who should the Milwaukee Bucks sign with their final roster spot? – The case for Lindell Wigginton

After waiving Sandro Mamukelashvili, the Bucks freed up a two-way slot. Many expected them to use that open spot on some in-house talent, and Lindell Wigginton was the most popular name among the bunch. Indeed, the Bucks signed Wigginton, a Wisconsin Herd and former Bucks guard, to this two-way deal.

In his second season with the Herd, Wigginton put up some impressive numbers this season with 21.7 points, 5.7 assists, 3.7 rebounds, and a steal per game. The guard has shown that he can be a solid scorer and facilitator. At 24 years old, Wigginton is still young, and perhaps the Bucks believe he is someone worth keeping around and developing. A standard deal would show how much they believe in the young guard.

Out of all of the possible options listed here, Wigginton seems like the least likely to get a standard deal, most of which could be attributed to the position he plays. He is the fourth-string point guard on Milwaukee’s roster behind Jrue Holiday, Jevon Carter, and Goran Dragic. It would be surprising if the Bucks brought in another point guard on a standard deal when they need depth elsewhere, but crazier things have happened before.
