The Milwaukee Bucks tend to keep things quiet when it comes to posting videos online about their workouts and off-season routines.

However, it’s always great to see some clips here and there, which recently happened courtesy of the famed Rico Hines runs in Los Angeles, where NBA players play pick-up. There were a handful of Bucks taking part recently, including MarJon Beauchamp, Lindell Wigginton, Jazian Gortman, Chris Livingston, Omari Moore, and Andre Jackson Jr.

A few very minor notes:

  • Chris Livingston looked incredibly aggressive on both ends
  • Jazian Gortman is the definition of a pesky and hard-nosed defender
  • Confidence remains the ultimate key for MarJon Beauchamp

The theme here is that all of these players are young. The Bucks made it a point of emphasis to add more youth this off-season, and they did so, now having five players on their roster born in 2000 or later, compared to just one last season. The Bucks will still be a veteran-oriented group, but these young guys could certainly help on a nightly basis.

Coach Adrian Griffin is likely aiming to get these players involved next season, so it’s great to see them building up chemistry already. Not only are they playing with each other, but they are also going up against actual NBA talent, with players like Pascal Siakam, Kevin Huerter, Terry Rozier, and Jabari Smith Jr. all also present at this latest run.

NBA training camp is right around the corner, so this unit will be on the court together again soon. It’ll be interesting to see if these runs and other off-season workouts have prepared them for the new season ahead. Getting meaningful production from any of these players would be a huge lift for the Milwaukee Bucks during the 2023-24 NBA season.

Ultimately, pick-up basketball won’t determine how well these players perform next season, but it is a quality opportunity for the young Bucks to get some action together before the season starts. After all, chemistry is nothing to gloss over in team sports. It’s exciting to see these guys getting in some meaningful reps together on the court.
