The Denver Nuggets are a second apron team right now, and based on their past history, it seems unlikely that they will finish the season as a second apron team. So, that's where the Milwaukee Bucks should step in. They should see if they can use Myles Turner as a trade chip to help the Nuggets get under the second apron and prey on how desperate they are to not be an apron team.
According to recent reports, the Bucks have been trying to trade Turner all summer. There have been no landing spots for him. Nobody wants to take on his contract. However, if the Nuggets are desperate enough to get under the second apron, then perhaps there is a deal to be done. And an Aaron Gordon for Turner swap would get the Nuggets under the second apron, and that's a deal the Bucks should be interested in.
Gordon has a much better chance to receive a positive return on the trade market than Turner does. His plug-and-play ability at the power forward spot would certainly make him more enticing to most teams around the league.
Bucks should entice Nuggets with Myles Turner trade
Last year, the Bucks waved and stretched Damian Lillard in order to sign Turner. They did so in an attempt to keep Giannis Antetokounmpo happy, which ultimately failed.
This summer, the Bucks traded Antetokounmpo to the Miami Heat in one of the biggest deals in franchise history. Now, they are left with Turner, who they don't need anymore.
Realistically speaking, the Bucks should be playing their young guys instead of someone like Turner, who is better suited as a complementary piece on a playoff team. The Bucks aren't that right now. Nowhere close.
However, with how much money Turner makes, the Bucks have been unable to trade him. So, maybe they should prey on the Nuggets' desperation. Maybe there's a move to be made there.
Obviously, in an ideal world for Denver, it doesn't have to trade Gordon, who has been an integral piece of their success for the last few years, for a player like Turner.
However, if ownership pressures the front office to get under the second apron by the trade deadline, the Nuggets may be forced to make a move.
And again, that's where the Bucks could step in and offer a Turner-for-Gordon swap. The Nuggets wouldn't want to do it, but if they had to, maybe something could happen there.
