The Milwaukee Bucks have been on a roller coaster since their NBA Trade Deadline shakeup, with the team unable to find any sense of consistency.

However, one undeniable bright spot in that span has been Kevin Porter Jr. The Bucks acquired the guard in a last-second deal with the LA Clippers, swapping him out for MarJon Beauchamp. Given the fact that Beauchamp wasn't in the rotation and Porter could immediately leap in to give the Bucks an added dose of shot-creation and scoring, this was viewed as a win from the start.

Porter has performed incredibly well during his time in the 414, only increasing that sentiment, and a former Milwaukee Bucks guard has taken notice, praising his efforts.

Brandon Jennings highlights KPJ's play with the Bucks

Prior to Milwaukee's most recent matchup against the Atlanta Hawks, this writer chatted with former Bucks guard Brandon Jennings, who played with the team from 2009-2013 and then again during the 2017-18 NBA season, during Michelob ULTRA's "Play Like a Pro" event at Fiserv Forum. Known for his electric play, Jennings delivered praise about the newcomer who has given the Bucks a jolt.

"With Kevin Porter Jr. coming in, the energy that he has, the excitement, the Bucks really got a steal with him."

It didn't take long for Kevin Porter Jr. to validate Jennings's comments, as the guard went off during Milwaukee's contest just a few hours later. Porter poured in 28 points and five assists off the bench, shooting 8-of-12 from the floor. The Milwaukee Bucks couldn't get the job done, losing yet another game, but Kevin Porter Jr. did everything he could to try and will this team to victory.

With the Milwaukee Bucks banged up, especially in the backcourt as Damian Lillard sits out due to a blood clot, Porter's importance has grown mightily down the stretch. Although he likely won't score 28 points every night, he has that gene that allows him to have big games any given night. The Bucks need as many of them as possible as they aim to establish some momentum before the playoffs.

During his 23 games in Milwaukee, Porter is now averaging 10.2 points, 3.4 rebounds, 3.3 assists and a steal per game while shooting 47.9 percent from the floor and 41.2 percent from deep. Getting him for Beauchamp and not having to attach any draft capital will go down as one of the Bucks' biggest fleeces in quite some time. That sentiment could grow even larger down the stretch.
