Whether it is due to injury, illnesses or recovery, the Milwaukee Bucks' Big 3 hasn't played in too many games this season.
It has disrupted team chemistry, so with the trio all in action lately, they are trying to get this group up to speed and clicking. Although it's all still a work in progress, games like Milwaukee's 122-93 victory over the Magic showcase how good this group is when they are all on the same page.
The Milwaukee Bucks' Big 3 was on fire in their recent win
Every single member of Milwaukee's trio held up their end of the bargain, with Damian Lillard pouring in 30 points, five rebounds, four assists and four steals, while Giannis Antetokounmpo had 26 points and 11 rebounds and Khris Middleton had 14 points and six assists off the bench.
Perhaps the biggest takeaway was Lillard's aggressiveness on offense. The guard shot 68.4 percent from the floor, knocking in 13 of his 19 shots. Those 13 makes tied a season-high, and they were far from easy. Whether it was courtesy of a tough finish inside or a smooth step-back 3-pointer, Lillard was locked in offensively and as confident as ever in his shot.
Speaking of confidence and efficiency, Giannis Antetokounmpo was excellent, shooting 11-of-15 on his shots to score his 26 points. Not only did the Greek Freak attack the hoop with authority, but he continued his recent surge from the mid-range and knocked several down. That shot is no longer a fluke; it's a legitimate part of his arsenal, and it makes this team all the more dangerous.
Meanwhile, Khris Middleton had one of his most complete games of the season with his 14 points, shooting an efficient 5-of-8 from the floor. Yet, it was the six assists that truly stood out, as a handful of them were thanks to Giannis. These two showed that their chemistry is still as intact as ever, and when they are clicking while Lillard is on fire, this offense is tough to stop for opponents.
The Milwaukee Bucks might not get these numbers every single night, but it's welcoming to see that they are capable of putting together a performance like this despite the lack of reps together. As the Bucks get into a rhythm with their core components getting healthy, the next step is doing this when the top teams are on the schedule, something they have yet to do this season.
The Bucks have now won five of their last six.
