Alex Antetokounmpo, the younger brother of current Milwaukee Bucks Giannis and Thanasis, could be on his way back to the G League. According to Johnny Askounis of Eurohoops, Alex is expected to depart from Aris Betsson and return to the G League, where he has spent time before. It would only make sense if the Wisconsin Herd, his former squad, were among the teams in the mix.

Herd have familiarity with the youngest Antetokounmpo

Alex spent two seasons with the Herd in 2022-23 and 2023-24. The forward never dazzled during his time with the franchise, averaging 5.8 points, three rebounds, and 0.8 assists in his first season and 5.7 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 0.7 assists during his second. There were glimpses of potential, but he never managed to fully become a standout.

The biggest problem, and what he will have to work on the most if he returns, is efficiency. In his first season with the Herd, Alex shot 37.2 percent from the floor and 24.7 percent from long distance. The following year, it was 32 percent from the floor and 19.6 percent from three. Those numbers will not get the job done.

If Alex Antetokounmpo does indeed return to the G League, it will be interesting to see how much he has sharpened his game. He is still just 24 years old, so if the Herd were to pick him up, it would be a low-risk flyer. The Milwaukee Bucks are always on the hunt for lengthy forwards, so it never hurts to bring one in for a G League audition, especially if they have familiarity with them.

Of course, given how important family is to him, it wouldn't hurt to bring another family member in for Giannis Antetokounmpo, who will already have Thanasis Antetokounmpo by his side with the Bucks.

The Herd are quietly putting together an interesting squad this year. They made a trade earlier in the summer to bring mainstay piece Lindell Wigginton back into the fold. Former top 13 pick Kira Lewis Jr. will be on the squad as a reclamation project. Once he gets done with Milwaukee Bucks training camp, Cormac Ryan will inevitably make his way to Oshkosh.

Perhaps the biggest name in the mix will be rookie Mark Sears, who is currently signed to the Bucks via a two-way contract. He'll spend a good chunk of his season down in the G League and should be the headliner for this squad. Another Antetokounmpo would also catch plenty of attention.
