The injuries have been coming like haymakers for the Milwaukee Bucks lately.
First, rising big man Jericho Sims underwent thumb surgery, leaving the Bucks thin in the frontcourt as Bobby Portis also sits out due to suspension. Then, it was announced that Damian Lillard was set to miss time due to a blood clot. Milwaukee couldn't afford any more injuries, but following their game against the New York Knicks, another key rotational player has earned an injury designation.
Bucks' AJ Green pops up on the injury report
AJ Green, who has been among the most reliable Milwaukee Bucks health-wise this season - having played 66 games this season, tied for the second-most on the team - is set to be questionable when the Atlanta Hawks come to town on Sunday. Green lands on the report with a right AC joint sprain, an injury he suffered in the tough loss to New York.
Though Green has been stuck in the mud - for the most part - lately, the Milwaukee Bucks simply can't afford to have more players go down. With the regular season winding down and this team needing to get a few wins to keep pace in the East, these injuries have been a problem. While there is a chance he might be able to give it a go, there's also a shot he won't be 100 percent even if he does.
If Green does sit out, not only will the Bucks have to rely more on Kevin Porter Jr. and Ryan Rollins, but it may also force Doc Rivers to insert Andre Jackson Jr. back into the rotation. While Jackson still has his issues producing on the offensive end, he could certainly give this team a ready body to fill some minutes on the wing if needed. He's just waiting for another opportunity to prove himself.
Luckily for the Milwaukee Bucks, Giannis Antetokounmpo is listed as probable as he deals with a foot sprain. He was questionable prior to the meeting with New York, so he is trending up. He is another player who may not be 100 percent, but with everything at stake, he knows this team needs him.
Dropping their last three games, a win could do the Milwaukee Bucks a lot of good here. Time is short, and the NBA Playoffs are inching closer. This team needs to establish some momentum soon here.
