The Milwaukee Bucks have brought in plenty of fresh faces this offseason, which has led to a handful of intriguing jersey number selections.

It remains to be seen whether or not the Bucks are done making moves, but for now, let's analyze the updated numbers from the newcomers.

Bucks jersey number updates

AJ Johnson - No. 77

First-round pick AJ Johnson caught plenty of eyes when he chose 77 as his number, worn by former fan favorite Buck Ersan Ilyasova. It's unclear if he will still have that number when the season starts, as he said in an interview on 101.7 The Truth that he'll likely change it. Johnson has said that No. 7 is his preferred option, but that currently belongs to Chris Livingston. Time will tell.

Tyler Smith - No. 15

In that same aforementioned interview, second-rounder Tyler Smith mentioned how the Bucks have so many jersey numbers retired, so he settled for No. 15. Before getting drafted, he wore No. 11 with the G-League Ignite, but it feels like a safe bet that Brook Lopez will not be giving that up to the rookie anytime soon. No. 15 it is for Smith.

Delon Wright - No. 55

During five of his eight NBA stops, Delon Wright has worn No. 55. During the other three, he donned a jersey number that is retired or taken in Milwaukee, so him landing on this is not surprising. It's unclear if he gave two-way player Ryan Rollins, who appeared in one game with the Bucks last season, any reward for giving it up or if the young guard just did the veteran a solid.

Staley Umude - No. 17

In two years with the Detroit Pistons, Stanley Umude wore No. 14 and No. 17. With the former being retired in Milwaukee, it felt like a given that he would select the latter. That number is well-known for being worn by P.J. Tucker during Milwaukee's title-winning campaign. If Umude can bring that same type of defensive intensity to the Milwaukee Bucks, he can live up to the number.

Taurean Prince - No. 12

Having worn No. 12 on four of the five franchises he's played for, it felt inevitable that Taurean Prince would once again select that number. It's one of the most popular numbers in franchise history, and Prince has an opportunity to etch himself into Milwaukee Bucks history as one of the better players to wear it if all goes according to plan.

Gary Trent Jr. - No. 5

In previous stops, Gary Trent Jr. wore Nos. 9, 2, and 33. With the first taken by Bobby Portis and the final two both retired, the guard would have to choose something fresh. He settled on No. 5, which was just worn by Malik Beasley in 2023-24. Ironically, Trent will also more than likely be the Bucks' starting shooting guard, just like Beasley was.

Ryan Rollins - No. 13

Having generously given up No. 55 to Delon Wright, Ryan Rollins went back to the drawing board and selected No. 13. If Rollins can build off of his strong showing in the Summer League, there could be a lot more No. 13 jerseys up in the Fiserv Forum crowd sooner rather than later. There's no doubt that the youngster has untapped potential.

Anžejs Pasečņiks - No. 18

The latest addition to the Milwaukee Bucks, two-way center Anžejs Pasečņiks, has chosen No. 18 to wear in the 414, per his Wikipedia. Considering he wore that same number during his two seasons in Washington, it makes sense he's rocking it once again in Milwaukee.
