The Milwaukee Bucks have been busy this summer, but they could still use another small forward to start over Taurean Prince. With the free agent market drying up, Milwaukee's best bet might come via the trade market, where there are a handful of names making the rounds, including Andrew Wiggins of the Miami Heat.
Bucks could use a forward like Wiggins
On paper, Wiggins would be the perfect fit for a Milwaukee team that needs a versatile small forward. Offensively, he can score at all three levels, fine-tuning his perimeter shot over the last few seasons. Defensively, he's as versatile as they come, able to switch through countless positions every single possession due to his 6-foot-7 height and 7-foot wingspan.
Giannis Antetokounmpo, Myles Turner, and Andrew Wiggins would be among the best two-way trios in the entire NBA next season. Their ability to defend on the perimeter as well as the interior could be devastating for opposing teams, and that goes without mentioning the possibility of adding in a pair of other stout shooters and defenders, such as AJ Green and the newly re-signed Gary Trent Jr.
Now, how do the Milwaukee Bucks get Wiggins? Financially, they can form an offer around Kyle Kuzma ($22.4 million). With Wiggins making $28.2 million next season, Milwaukee could do Miami a favor and save them a good chunk of change by swapping the two. Of course, Miami would need some form of draft capital. The 2031 first-round pick outright should be off the table, but perhaps a deal involving a swap or some protections could make more sense.
For further sweetening, perhaps Milwaukee could dangle Andre Jackson Jr. in talks. The team just moved back the guarantee date on his contract for next season, signaling that they are not sold on him leading up to next season. Miami would be a great spot for him to spread his wings, as it feels like they always get the best out of young, under the radar players.
Milwaukee's ultimate pitch would revolve around saving Miami money. It's not perfect, and there are other teams that can offer more, but that should not deter the Bucks. After pulling Myles Turner out of thin air, nothing feels impossible. An upgrade at small forward could be the final piece of the puzzle this team needs to truly get back into contention.
