It is that time of year when all the top NBA prospects meet with teams at the Draft Combine and are put through vigorous tests and meetings as they look to improve their prospects of selection. Highly rated guard Brayden Burries confirmed that he spoke to the Milwaukee Bucks and guard Ryan Rollins at the combine. It would be a Bucks fan's dream to land the Arizona Wildcat at pick 10.

Brayden Burries would be a steal if he fell into the Bucks' lap

Milwaukee Journal Sentinel's Jim Owczarski confirmed on Bluesky that Burries had spoken to Rollins during his time at the combine, along with a plethora of other prospects that the Bucks have met with. This could be the first time the two have spoken, or they may have met previously during their basketball careers. It could be nothing, but it is fun to think about Burries dropping to the Bucks at pick 10.

Burries averaged 16.1 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.5 steals on shooting splits of .491/.391/.805 during his year at Arizona.

It would be a big shock if Burries fell far enough for the Bucks to take him, with him being one of the top guards in the draft and a potential top-five pick. He is a do-it-all guard that is very switchable on defense, which has become a huge factor of the Milwaukee Bucks' identity.

On offense, he plays with a great pace, which he controls well, mixed with his ability to jump passing lanes and create opportunities in transition. He rebounds extremely well for his position, and the Bucks need all the help they can get crashing the glass. As a Wildcat, he took a slight backseat but fit his role perfectly as a second or third ball handler and played that solid switch defense. That could make him a nice backcourt partner for Rollins for the short and long term.

Burries has shown a solid shot selection from all zones, with a strong ability to create space and get his shot off when guarded by a bigger defender. He would be a brilliant pick for the Bucks, but it feels extremely unlikely he drops to 10.

Bucks casting their net wide

The Bucks have a lot of holes to fill on their roster, and, of course, the discourse around Giannis Antetokounmpo's future continues, and that will ultimately shape Milwaukee's direction. Burries is likely off the board at 10, but there is still guard talent they've spoken to, such as Darius Acuff Jr., Mikel Brown Jr., Cameron Carr, and others, per The Athletic's Eric Nehm.

Teams are allowed to interview up to 20 players at the combine, so the Bucks are casting their net wide when it comes to that range of prospects. There are those like Burries and Keaton Wagler who could be top five but may also drop, with them also speaking to players like Aday Mara and the very unknown Karim Lopez, who are players that could rise following workouts.

Everything is pointing towards Burries going well before the Bucks get to select a prospect, but it is still a fun thought if the Wildcat were to drop to them. He fits a hole on the roster brilliantly and would actually form a nice backcourt alongside Rollins. Who knows what might happen on draft night, but this feels like a lot would have to fall the Bucks' way for this to happen.
