After two years with the Milwaukee Bucks, Pat Connaughton will enter unrestricted free agency this offseason with an uncertain future.
Since joining the Milwaukee Bucks in the 2018 offseason, Pat Connaughton has been a fan favorite for the franchise.
His springy athleticism created some highlight-reel worthy plays on both ends of the floor periodically, captivating the eyes of many. Whether it was an emphatic blocked shot or a ferocious putback dunk, Pat’s 44-inch vertical made him fantastic to watch. Connaughton even earned a spot in this season’s slam dunk contest, being robbed after finishing in third place.

His presence off the bench has been a crucial part of head coach Mike Budenholzer’s rotation in Connaughton’s two seasons with Milwaukee, even if his impact is not exactly felt on the stat sheet.
In 128 total regular-season games with the team, Connaughton averaged 6.1 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game, while posting .461/.331/.750 shooting splits.
The 27-year-old did all of the little things for the Bucks, making the hustle plays, providing a pesky defensive presence, and, most notably, serving as an energy enhancer off the team’s bench. Because of those characteristics, it appears that there is already shaping up to be a market for Pat Connaughton in free agency.
One team, in particular, that is showing potential interest in the guard, is the Cleveland Cavaliers. With a team like the Cavs in the middle of a full rebuild, bringing in a veteran like Connaughton makes sense, and could make it a legitimate possibility that he leaves Milwaukee this offseason.
Looking at it strictly from the Milwaukee Bucks’ perspective, however, here is what to buy and what to sell on Pat Connaughton in free agency.
