5 wings for Milwaukee Bucks to target at 24th overall pick – Desmond Bane

Desmond Bane has become the quintessential role player that all teams standing late in the first round are coveting. It’s not hard to see why, given the mix of high-level shooting, ball handling and secondary playmaking that Bane provides and fine tuned over his four seasons at TCU.

We already know that the Bucks have reportedly interviewed with Bane over the pre-draft process. But that’s part and parcel of Bane’s draft endeavors as he recently told The Athletic’s C.J. Moore ($$) that he will have met with every NBA team at least once over the last several many months.

The good news for Bane is that his evaluation has risen so much that he’s a lock to get a fully guaranteed rookie-scale contract. The bad news for a team like the Bucks is that Bane is hardly a draft steal when every team around the league has had some level of interest in him throughout the process.

For a Bucks team that needs the precise skill set that Bane comes armed with, they will certainly face stiff competition and have to hope that the 22-year-old will remain available by the time they’re on the clock at 24. With Bane well-suited to contribute straight away from the jump, it makes all the sense in the world why he would be such a desired prospect deep into the draft.
