Blockbuster Anthony Davis mock trade patches Bucks' key flaw (perhaps too much)

Having Antetokounmpo, Davis, AND Turner on the same team would make for a massive frontcourt.

The Milwaukee Bucks have been plagued by a lack of size in their rotation this season, and one idea to address it is trading for Anthony Davis. While Davis' massive contract makes him an unlikely target, there have been links between the forward and the Bucks in recent weeks, so it cannot be ruled out. What would a deal look like? Bleacher Report's Andy Bailey broke it down with an interesting pitch.

Bucks supersize their frontcourt in mock Anthony Davis trade

In other Anthony Davis to Milwaukee mock trades, Myles Turner is among those heading to Dallas. That makes sense, given that Davis would theoretically slide into the center spot next to Giannis. However, Davis has never been shy about his desire to play power forward, so perhaps the idea of being able to do so in Milwaukee rather than be a full-time five could be fairly enticing.

In the aftermath, the Bucks would have Antetokounmpo (6-foot-11), Turner (6-foot-11), and Davis (6-foot-10), all in the starting five. Milwaukee's issues being smaller than most of their opponents would vanish overnight. AJ Green, a makeshift small forward, could finally play his natural position, while the ever-versatile Giannis Antetokounmpo could move to the three.

While those three would make a formidable defensive trio that no team would want to play against, the Milwaukee Bucks should hold off on this trade or any that involve Davis right now.

It was recently announced that Davis will miss around six weeks with an injured hand. It's the latest injury in a long line of them for the forward. Even with Davis' injury, it's almost certain that he will be looking for a four-year extension worth $275 million when he becomes eligible next summer. Those are two sizeable issues. Simply, the juice may not be worth the squeeze.

Trading for Davis would have to be a move the Milwaukee Bucks think will help them next season. Adding a player who won't be available for the next six or so weeks isn't going to help a team that is currently out of the Play-In picture and needs reinforcements right now. By the time he's ready to hit the hardwood, the Bucks could very well already be eliminated from contention.

If the Milwaukee Bucks are entertaining trading a first-round pick or a swap, it should be for a player who can make an immediate difference. It could be the last Hail Mary to help dig this team out of a massive hole. Something like this proposed Anthony Davis deal isn't doing that.
