The Milwaukee Bucks have been making plenty of roster moves over the last week or so, and there are bound to be plenty more. Based on their latest additions to the Summer League team, including Luke Travers and Kobe Stewart, it's clear that the Bucks are looking at beefing up their forward depth and will leave no stone unturned.
Bucks could use another forward for depth
After trading Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bobby Portis, the Milwaukee Bucks have plenty of bodies in the backcourt and at center, but they are somewhat lacking at both forward spots.
Kyle Kuzma is still in town. Nate Ament just got drafted. Jaime Jaquez Jr. should factor into the plan after coming over in the Giannis deal. Malique Lewis should be on the roster after getting drafted in the second round. While all fine players, the Bucks could use another body or two at the forward spots to further beef up their depth.
Ousmane Dieng, headed for restricted free agency, remains an option, but there is no telling just how much he might be in search of. If he wants a raise the Bucks aren't willing to accommodate, he could be on his way out. The same goes for Taurean Prince, who is still pondering his player option after much of his 2025-26 NBA season was consumed by injuries.
With plenty of uncertainty at these spots, it makes sense that the Bucks are looking at a pair of forwards via the Summer League.
Travers, Stewart will be interesting summer additions
ESPN's Olgun Uluc reports that Luke Travers will join Milwaukee's summer squad. The forward spent the last two seasons in Cleveland, primarily in the G League. He showcased potential in bunches this past season, averaging 22.3 points, 7.5 rebounds, five assists, 1.5 steals, and 1.5 blocks in six Tip-Off Tournament games. Taking a flyer on him is about as low risk as it gets.
The same goes for Kobe Stewart, who Dushawn London of 247Sports reports will be joining Travers on Milwaukee's Summer League roster. Stewart already has one foot in the door, having suited up for the Wisconsin Herd, Milwaukee's G League affiliate, this past season. He averaged nine points and 3.3 rebounds while hitting 35.2 percent of his triples. He's worth a closer look.
Neither player could very well make Milwaukee's roster. Summer League is all about getting a closer look at potential hidden gems. If they don't make the actual roster, there is always a chance they may stick with the organization and suit up for the Herd in the future. No matter how things pan out, it is a welcoming sign that the Bucks are scouring the market for more forward depth after trading Giannis.
