Considering they just traded away their superstar and hadn't been good even with him lately, not too many people are high on the Milwaukee Bucks this coming season. Yet, Tyler Herro is, and he's not at all shy about letting it be known. Speaking to reporters at his basketball camp over the weekend, the guard made Milwaukee's intentions this coming season clear.

Bucks will fight against the naysayers
Herro, obviously, isn't going to come out and say the Milwaukee Bucks are poised to take a step back. However, he very well could believe with his whole heart that this team can make noise. Given that the Bucks have ranked 30th in numerous power rankings across the NBA, it's not far-fetched to think they can be better than that. Milwaukee is in a better position to succeed than most might think.
Sure, they don't have a superstar talent paving the way anymore, but this roster is still full of talented pieces. Herro is an All-Star, Myles Turner is still a talented two-way big man, Ryan Rollins is bordering on emerging as a legitimate dual threat, and just about every other young player on the roster is due to take a leap this coming season.
With Taylor Jenkins, who is a significant upgrade over Doc Rivers, taking over as coach, the Bucks quietly have a solid foundation in place.
Herro right to set Bucks expectations
While the Eastern Conference has grown stronger, the Milwaukee Bucks should still push for the NBA Playoffs. With the talent in tow, the Play-In certainly feels within reach. Of course, they could suffer an early bout with growing pains with all of the new faces in town, but if they can fight through that, they have the talent to make a surprising push that would silence their doubters far and wide.
Milwaukee's odds would only strengthen if they pull off a sign-and-trade for Peyton Watson without gutting a significant portion of their roster. For a team that could use a legitimate forward, Watson's presence could put the finishing touches on this overlooked roster in a big way. Of course, landing him is far easier said than done.
Above all else, it's nice to see Tyler Herro set the tone. He's one of the team's leaders now, and making it clear long before the season that this team isn't embracing a regression is a good start. He will have to lead by example, and he's doing so already.
