The Milwaukee Bucks will kick off Summer League play soon, and one of the players on the squad is Brandon Boston Jr. The wing had a four-year NBA career before recently heading overseas. Still just 24 years old, Boston's NBA dreams are still alive and well, and capitalizing on this opportunity gifted to him by the Bucks would be an excellent starting point.

Boston showed flashes throughout his career

In stints with the LA Clippers and New Orleans Pelicans, Boston was always at least mildly productive. During his four-year career, he averaged 7.5 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game. While not worthy of jumping off the page, there were always glimpses of what Boston could be sprinkled in over the course of his NBA days.

Without a clear NBA opportunity that past season, Boston went overseas to test the waters. He didn't quite dazzle there, either. In 50 games, he averaged 5.9 points, two rebounds, and 0.5 assists. Even as quiet of a year as it was, the Milwaukee Bucks clearly saw something in Boston that they liked and are eager to see what he can do in the Summer League.

With all of his experience, Boston will be among the veterans on this Summer League squad, giving him an opportunity to lead the charge.

Bucks are always looking for reclamation projects

In recent years, the Milwaukee Bucks have found young discarded talent and built them back up by inviting them to join their G League squad. Cormac Ryan and Pete Nance, two players who will be on this squad, are prime examples of this. Both took opportunities with Milwaukee like this and worked their way into being standard contributors this past season.

If he impresses, Boston could follow a similar path.

Boston has already initiated the first step to getting back to the NBA by making the Summer League squad, but step two is awaiting. He has to dazzle enough over these next several games to get invited to join the Wisconsin Herd, Milwaukee's G League squad. There, if he keeps lighting it up, the Bucks would have an opportunity to bring him up to the big leagues.

It all starts with whether or not Boston takes advantage of this opportunity. The Milwaukee Bucks no longer employ Giannis Antetokounmpo and will be leaving no stone unturned in their quest to bring in young talent. Boston could work his way into that conversation in due time.
