The Milwaukee Bucks' guard room was already overflowing, but they've added another name for good measure. Per ESPN's Shams Charania, Kam Jones is heading to Milwaukee via a two-way deal only a year removed from being a second-round pick in the NBA Draft. Jones gives the Bucks yet another guard to sort through as they put together this roster after trading Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Bucks add yet another guard to their backcourt

In addition to Jones, the Bucks now employ Tyler Herro, Ryan Rollins, Kevin Porter Jr., Gary Harris, AJ Green, Brayden Burries, and Kasparas Jakucionis. That's a lot of talent and not enough minutes for all of these players to see time. As a two-way prospect, no one should expect Jones to play over any of these players, but it's interesting that Milwaukee added another guard despite the depth.

It feels inevitable that the Milwaukee Bucks will make some sort of change in the backcourt over the next few weeks. Tyler Herro has been named in trade rumors. Maybe the team dumps Gary Harris to anyone with an open roster spot. AJ Green could fetch an interesting return. No matter what, it would be shocking if Milwaukee entered the season with this particular backcourt.

Something will almost certainly have to give.

Jones is a low-risk, high-reward pickup

Even with the logjam in the backcourt, Jones is a nice addition to Milwaukee's roster. Just over a year ago, he was the 38th pick in the draft. In today's NBA, second-round picks are becoming increasingly valuable by the day, so the opportunity to pick up a player of Jones' stature is easy to justify. Now, they will look to unearth his potential in a way that the Indiana Pacers could not.

In all likelihood, Jones, the Marquette product, will not see a prominent role for the Milwaukee Bucks this season. Most of his time will likely be spent in the G League with the Wisconsin Herd, where he'll see extended minutes. Over the years, players like AJ Green, Ryan Rollins, and Pete Nance have all gone from two-way players to standard contract contributors. Jones should look to follow their lead.

He'd be a late addition, but the Milwaukee Bucks should look to get Jones onto their Summer League roster to give him some additional reps under his belt this summer.

Welcome to Milwaukee, Kam Jones!
